Disability Pride Month

July marks Disability Pride Month – a time to celebrate the history, achievements, identities and invaluable contributions of disabled people, while continuing to champion accessibility, inclusion and disability rights.

Disability is not something to be hidden, fixed or “overcome” in order for us to have value.

It is a natural part of human diversity, and every disabled person deserves dignity, respect, equal opportunity and the opportunity to thrive.

As an Inclusion & Wellbeing Specialist, I’m proud to support organisations in moving beyond awareness and towards meaningful action.

Whether you’re looking to mark Disability Pride Month or embed disability inclusion throughout the year, I deliver engaging, interactive keynotes and workshops on topics including:

Developing a Disability Confident Culture

Neurodiversity in the Workplace

Inclusive Language & Accessible Communication

Psychological Safety & Allyship

Understanding the Experiences of LGBTQIA+ Disabled People

Inclusive Leadership, Recruitment and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion

My sessions combine lived experience, practical strategies and open conversation to help create workplaces where disabled colleagues don’t simply have access—they feel valued, respected and genuinely belong.

Accessibility isn’t a favour and inclusion shouldn’t just be a tick-box exercise.

Disability Pride isn’t just for July. It’s about creating a world where everyone can participate, contribute and flourish—every single day.

If you’d like to bring a Disability Pride Month event, webinar or workshop to your organisation, I’d love to hear from you.

The theme for Disability Pride Month is “The World Works Better With Us.”

Disability Pride Month isn’t about pretending disability is easy. It’s about recognising that disabled people shouldn’t have to overcome unnecessary barriers simply to participate.

Accessibility isn’t a favour, reasonable adjustments aren’t special treatment, and inclusion benefits everyone.

The world has never worked better by excluding people. It works better when every voice is heard, every talent is valued, and everyone belongs.

If you’d like to bring a Disability Pride Month event, webinar or workshop to your organisation, I’d love to hear from you.

Happy Disability Pride Month!

At the heart of David’s work is a simple but powerful belief: when people are seen, heard, and supported to be fully themselves—they thrive.

Just wanted to send a quick thanks for the talk this morning- the presentation was fantastic and I think it was really lovely having so much time to go over questions from colleagues. It was so informative and helpful, and I’m sure lots of the attendees (including myself) will feel really supported and empowered to receive the support they need thanks to your time! It’s really nice to see things like this begin to pop up more and more at the BL.

Thank you for this, really, really helpful, especially the reminder/confirmation, that what will help, helps us all, so the methods and approaches to inclusivity don't need to be seen as targeted, so much as best practice.

I just wanted to say -- WOW, you’re just brilliant. I thought your delivery was spot on, your genuinely lovely personality comes across so well (don’t know how you do that on zoom with no feedback / no faces!) and everything you said made a lot of sense. As I couldn’t type ‘thanks’ at the time, I’m typing it now: !Thanks!

I really liked how you completely normalised neurodiversity and emphasised how we are all unique and rich in different ways.

Your manner is so right for this kind of thing, I loved how you smiled throughout the presentation – I was thinking I should probably try to learn from how you presented (I hate presenting) as it was so clear and not boring for one second.

You were so at-ease I’m sure that makes the audience feel really comfortable and able to ask questions.

Thank you very much to David for his talk and to the network for organising! Very informative and with practical information for supporting all colleagues. Thank you!
