Developing Inclusive and Accessible Trainers
Exceptional training doesn't happen by chance. It happens when instructors have the confidence, knowledge and practical skills to create learning environments where every participant feels welcomed, valued and able to succeed.
This highly interactive workshop equips trainers, facilitators and subject matter experts with the confidence to design and deliver learning that engages every participant.
Together, we explore how session structure, learning environments, communication, resources, reasonable adjustments and inclusive language all contribute to creating training that is accessible, effective and memorable.
No two organisations are the same, which is why every session is carefully tailored to your people, your culture, your existing training provision and your organisational goals.
Rather than following a rigid, off-the-shelf programme, the session develops organically through the broadest possible range of collaborative, interactive and multisensory learning experiences.
Depending on your objectives, these may include facilitated discussions, table-talk, case studies, practical challenges, peer coaching, reflection activities, observation tasks, visual resources, individual and group problem-solving, live demonstrations and opportunities for delegates to adapt and deliver elements of their own training.
Throughout the day, participants experience the programme as learners, trainers and observers, gaining valuable insight from each perspective. They receive constructive feedback, reflect on their own practice and develop practical strategies that can be applied immediately to create more engaging, inclusive and accessible learning experiences, whether delivered face-to-face or online.
Participants leave with greater confidence, practical tools and a personalised action plan to enhance the quality of their training, ensuring every learner has the opportunity to participate, contribute and achieve their full potential.
This approach reflects David's long-standing belief that when barriers are removed and people feel included, everyone performs at their very best.

Just wanted to send a quick thanks for the talk this morning- the presentation was fantastic and I think it was really lovely having so much time to go over questions from colleagues. It was so informative and helpful, and I’m sure lots of the attendees (including myself) will feel really supported and empowered to receive the support they need thanks to your time! It’s really nice to see things like this begin to pop up more and more at the BL.
Thank you for this, really, really helpful, especially the reminder/confirmation, that what will help, helps us all, so the methods and approaches to inclusivity don't need to be seen as targeted, so much as best practice.
I just wanted to say -- WOW, you’re just brilliant. I thought your delivery was spot on, your genuinely lovely personality comes across so well (don’t know how you do that on zoom with no feedback / no faces!) and everything you said made a lot of sense. As I couldn’t type ‘thanks’ at the time, I’m typing it now: !Thanks!
I really liked how you completely normalised neurodiversity and emphasised how we are all unique and rich in different ways.

Your manner is so right for this kind of thing, I loved how you smiled throughout the presentation – I was thinking I should probably try to learn from how you presented (I hate presenting) as it was so clear and not boring for one second.
You were so at-ease I’m sure that makes the audience feel really comfortable and able to ask questions.

Thank you very much to David for his talk and to the network for organising! Very informative and with practical information for supporting all colleagues. Thank you!
