Culture & Leadership
I’d be really interested to hear from others working in this space: how is your work evolving, and what are organisations asking you for now that they weren’t asking for a year or two ago?

Over the past week, I’ve been really thankful to speak with a number of colleagues working across inclusion, People & Culture and organisational development, and to hear just how similar our experiences have been.
There is a definite shift taking place in the conversations organisations are having, the language they are using and the support they are looking for. For me, those conversations have helped crystallise where my own work is heading.
My focus is increasingly on Culture & Leadership: helping organisations develop the people, behaviours and environments that enable everyone to do their best work.
That means developing emerging and aspiring leaders with the confidence, self-awareness and practical skills to lead diverse people effectively.
It means creating workplace cultures where people feel valued, respected and able to contribute — where they can share ideas, ask questions, offer different perspectives and learn without fear of judgement.
And it means equipping people with the confidence and skills to communicate openly and respectfully, navigate differences, address issues when they arise and build stronger working relationships.
Inclusion remains fundamental to my work. I’m not moving away from inclusion; I’m widening the conversation around it.
Rather than treating inclusion as something separate, I want to place it where I believe it has always belonged: at the heart of good leadership, positive workplace culture and the everyday experience of people at work.
Because ultimately, culture is created in the everyday.
It’s how we lead. How we listen. How we communicate. How we respond when someone speaks up. How we navigate difference and disagreement. How we make decisions. And how people experience us when things become difficult.
For me, this isn’t about abandoning the work I’ve done before. It’s about taking everything I’ve learned through years of inclusion work and applying it more broadly to the challenges organisations and their people are facing now.
That’s the direction I’m excited to be taking my work.
Culture. Leadership. Communication. Inclusion.
All with the same purpose I’ve always had: helping create workplaces where people can belong, contribute and thrive.
Are organisations moving away from inclusion, or are we beginning to recognise that inclusion needs to be embedded much more deeply within leadership and workplace culture?
