David is a former Specialist Educational Needs and Trauma-informed educator, an Inclusion and Wellbeing Consultant, with 25+ years of experience, training across all strands of Diversity & Inclusion, who champions the right of every individual to achieve their fullest potential, both personally and professionally, so that they are not held back by the limiting labels imposed upon them by others.

These informal workshops/ webinars enable a better understanding of the experience of neurodivergent colleagues and clients in your workplace, and are open to participants from across the organisation.

Neurodiversity is the concept that neurological differences should be both recognised and respected, in the same way as any other human variation.

These differences include Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (better known as ADHD or ADD), Dyscalculia, Autism and Tourette’s Syndrome.

I present these concepts and strategies in four distinct parts:

1. What is Neurodiversity?

2. Types of Neurodivergence

3. Working when Neurodivergent and

4. Supporting Neurodiversity at Work

Services

Although well-versed in all areas of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, I am particularly passionate about helping organisations develop a greater understanding of neurodiversity and of providing staff with accessible training so that they can enhance their support for and relationships with colleagues, customers and all other stakeholders.

I would welcome the opportunity to answer any questions that you may have regarding types of neurodivergence and the reasons why many employers are now taking steps to support neurodiversity in the workplace.

I am available for speaking engagements and accessible workshops which can be tailored to suit the needs of your organisation.

I look forward to speaking with you very soon, so that I can assist in supporting your organisational wellbeing and inclusion goals.

Your satisfaction is my priority.

Very best wishes

Neurodiversity

Despite around 15% (a conservative underestimate) of the UK population being neurodivergent, a mere 1 in 10 organisations consider neurodiversity within their people management practices.

Neurodiversity is a relatively new term that many people may not yet know much about.

However, learning more about neurodiversity and taking steps to better support it can be hugely beneficial for employers, employees and other stakeholders.

Most Recent Feedback

I just wanted to say -- WOW, you’re just brilliant. I thought your delivery was spot on, your genuinely lovely personality comes across so well (don’t know how you do that on zoom with no feedback / no faces!) and everything you said made a lot of sense. As I couldn’t type ‘thanks’ at the time, I’m typing it now: !Thanks!

I really liked how you completely normalised neurodiversity and emphasised how we are all unique and rich in different ways.

The presentation was fantastic and I think it was really lovely having so much time to go over questions from colleagues. It was so informative and helpful, and I’m sure lots of the attendees (including myself) will feel really supported and empowered to receive the support they need thanks to your time! It’s really nice to see things like this begin to pop up more and more at the BL.

Your manner is so right for this kind of thing, I loved how you smiled throughout the presentation – I was thinking I should probably try to learn from how you presented (I hate presenting) as it was so clear and not boring for one second.

You were so at-ease I’m sure that makes the audience feel really comfortable and able to ask questions.

Thank you for this, really, really helpful, especially the reminder/confirmation, that what will help, helps us all, so the methods and approaches to inclusivity don't need to be seen as targeted, so much as best practice.
