Activity One: #ViableVisibleVoices – Networks

 

  1. The person born earliest in the year will be the facilitator
  2. The facilitator will decide on a speaker who will feedback to the whole group, when we return to the Main Room.
  3. If you prefer not to be the speaker, please select another member of the team.
  4. Please make sure that all voices are heard


Your facilitator will guide you through each of the following questions:


Viable
What is your potential to grow or function effectively and efficiently?


Visible

Do people know you exist?
How are you seen by the organisation?
Do you have a seat at the table?


Voices

Do you work intersectionally to deliver change?

Do you collaborate with other networks as a community to amplify blended voices to deliver progressive change?

Activity Two: What does it mean to be a Network Chair?



  1. The person whose first name comes first alphabetically will be the facilitator
  2. The facilitator will decide on a speaker who will feedback to the whole group, when we return to the Main Room
  3. Avoid specific reference to names when using examples
  4. Please make sure that all voices are heard


Your facilitator will guide you through each of the following questions.


• What is key to becoming a successful network chair?

• What makes a role model?

• Do you know any role models and if so, what do they do differently? 





Activity Three: Creating your brand and reputation


Instructions


  1. The facilitator for this discussion will be the person who most recently joined the organisation. Guide your team through the questions below.
  2. The facilitator will decide on a speaker who will feedback to the whole group, when we return to the Main Room.
  3. If you prefer not to be the speaker, please select another member of the team.



  • What do we want our network to be known for?
  • How do we raise our profile?
  • In which ways do we already successfully utilise the media, social media and Internal Comms to build our brand and reputation?
  • Are there other approaches that we have yet to try? 


Activity Four: #ViableVisibleVoices – Organisation


Instructions


  1. The facilitator for this discussion will be the person who has been with the organisation the longest.
  2. Facilitate an open discussion on the questions below.
  3. The facilitator will decide on a speaker who will feedback to the whole group, when we return to the Main Room.
  4. If you prefer not to be the speaker, please select another member of the team.



Viable
Has the organisation created the right environment for networks to be successful?


Visible

Are your networks constantly or frequently in the line of sight of Senior Leaders?

What opportunities do they offer for your networks to be visible?


Voices

Do your networks feel heard? Can you recall specific examples of when your network has had an impact?

Activity Five: Network Action Plan


Instructions


  1. Your leader for this activity will be the person whose first name contains the most letters.
  2. Your leader will select a speaker for the team.


Make sure that all voices are heard - consciously include all members of the team!


·What is the plan for your Network?

·In groups come up with a starter for ten Action Plan -  your key next steps


Consider:

  1. Where is the Network working well?

2. What do we need to do differently or better?

3. How can we involve and engage Network members and colleagues?

4. How can we best collaborate with stakeholders such as Comms & Marketing, Sponsors or allies to help roll out our Plan?
